The federal government has decided not to increase the prices petroleum products for the month of July.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in a press conference at Islamabad made the announcement.
Dar said that the government would bear an additional burden of Res3 billion to facilitate people on the happy occasion of Eid.
In its summary, Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had recommend an increase in oil prices.
“We have rejected the OGRA’s summary and maintained the old prices,” he said, adding that it was Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s order not to increase oil prices.
Dar said that the price of light diesel was increased byRs5.38 per litre.
