Five Pakistani Umrah pilgrims, including three women, were killed in a bus accident in Saudi Arabia while returning from the historic site of Badr to Medina. The crash also left several others injured, and those victims are currently receiving medical treatment at various hospitals in Medina.
Initial reports indicate that the deceased pilgrims were primarily from the Bahawalnagar district. Among the victims were Rukhsana Bibi and Amina Bibi from 228/9-R in Fort Abbas, along with two women from Dahran Wala and an elderly man named Manzoor Hussain from 39/3-R. The accident has left families grieving and the local Pakistani community in shock.

Medical authorities have confirmed that the injured are treated at multiple healthcare facilities throughout Madina. Four patients, including two women, are currently under care at the Saudi-German Hospital, while three others, two of whom are women, are receiving treatment at King Fahd Hospital. An additional female victim is being cared for at King Salman Hospital. Hospital officials have also reported that two bodies have been transferred to each of the Saudi-German and King Fahd hospitals.
Pakistan’s Consul General Khalid Majeed has confirmed the active involvement of the Pakistan Consulate in assisting the victims. Consulate teams support the injured and communicate with the Umrah sponsoring company involved in the pilgrimage. Official No Objection Certificates have been processed to facilitate the burial of three deceased individuals in Saudi Arabia, a decision made in consultation with and supported by the victims’ relatives.
