Pakistan experienced a significant setback in the fourth T20I against New Zealand, dismissed for 105 runs in 16.2 overs. This total marks one of the lowest in Pakistan’s history of T20 International performances.
This is the second time Pakistan has been dismissed for 105 runs in a T20I match; the previous instance occurred in 2018 against New Zealand at Sky Stadium. Their lowest total remains 74 runs, which was set against Australia.
Batting first at Mount Maunganui, New Zealand set a strong total of 220 runs for losing 6 wickets in their 20 overs. Tim Seifert was instrumental in the innings, scoring 44 runs, while captain Michael Bracewell scored 46 runs. Haris Rauf stood out for Pakistan with three wickets, Abrar Ahmed took two, and Abbas Afridi claimed one wicket.

Chasing the target, Pakistan’s batting lineup collapsed early. Opener Mohammad Haris scored just 2 runs, while Khushdil Shah managed 6. Hassan Nawaz, captain Agha Salman, Shadab Khan, and Abbas Afridi scored only a single run before being dismissed.
Abdul Samad was the lone bright spot in Pakistan’s innings, who fought valiantly to score 44 runs. However, his efforts were not enough to prevent a crushing defeat.
With this loss, New Zealand now leads the five-match series 3-1. The final T20I is scheduled for Wednesday, 26 March, after which the teams will shift to the ODI format.
