Tehran: The Army Ground Force secured the title of the fifth Men’s Ice Hockey League (Makan Cup 2026) in Iran, finishing the season with 35 points, just ahead of M.R, who ended with 34 points.
The season finale saw Army Ground Force lose 3-2 in overtime to M.R, but a 2-2 tie at regulation time had already ensured the championship.

Standout performers included Farshad Moghaddasi, named Player of the Season by Army Ground Force, Arshia Ghafouri, who scored four goals in a single match earlier in the season, and Danial Saroughi, recognised for consistent impact.
Jalal Keyhanfar was M.R’s Player of the Season, and Matin Ghaharzadeh led Ice Stars with seven goals and six assists.
A closing ceremony at the Iran Mall Ice Rink in Tehran, hosted by the Iran Ski and Winter Sports Federation and the Ice Hockey Association, awarded medals to the top three teams, with Ice Stars taking third place at 18 points.
The Makan Cup honours Makan Nasiri, a martyr from the Shajareh Tayyebeh School in Minab, and reflects the league’s intersection of sport and national commemoration.
