Gwadar, Balochistan: An Ormara IED blast killed a man on Thursday after an explosive device attached to his motorcycle detonated outside a religious leader’s guesthouse, police said.
Ormara Station House Officer Bashir Ahmed identified the victim as Raja, a resident of Makola in Pasni tehsil.
Police said Raja had arrived the previous night to stay at a baithak, or guesthouse, belonging to local religious leader Syed Muheem Jan.
SHO Bashir Ahmed said the explosion occurred early in the morning when Raja tried to start his motorcycle to leave the premises.
The improvised explosive device attached to the motorcycle detonated and killed him on the spot, the official said. Police did not report any other confirmed casualties in the initial account.

Police and Pakistan Navy personnel reached the site after the Ormara IED blast and cordoned off the area.
Officials launched a preliminary investigation to determine who planted the device and whether Raja or the guesthouse was the target. No group had claimed responsibility for the blast. The incident took place in Ormara, a coastal town in Gwadar district, Balochistan.
