Today nation will observed the 9th anniversary of the catastrophic earthquake’s devastations in Azad Jamu and Kashmir (AJK) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) on October 08, 2005.
In the memory of the martyrs of October 8, 2005 earthquake tragedy, special prayers were offered in mosques across the country.
In Azad Kashmir, special ceremonies are being held in remembrance of the victims. Government representatives and office-bearers of different organizations laid floral wreaths at a monument of martyrs in Muzaffarabad.
National flag along with AJK flag is hoisting half mast on all public buildings of the state to mark the anniversary.
A 7.6 magnitude earthquake devastated Azad Kashmir in the morning on October 8, 2005, killing over 86000 people.
