US President Donald Trump said on Monday that the United States could leave the Iran war immediately. He claimed Tehran’s military and leadership had suffered extensive losses.
Speaking at a campaign rally in Kansas, he insisted Iran would not obtain a nuclear weapon. “We could leave right now. They’re not going to have a nuclear weapon,” Trump said.
He claimed that Iran no longer possessed a functioning navy or air force. He also asserted that US forces had destroyed its radar and air defences, along with 229 Iranian fighter jets located on runways. Shifting to negotiations, Trump questioned who was left to represent Tehran.
