Pakistani bodybuilder Salman Ahmad made history early Monday by securing gold and winning the prestigious Mr. Musclemania World title for 2015. This victory marked a significant milestone as it was the first time in 25 years that the title has been awarded to a competitor from Pakistan.
In a heartfelt video posted on his public Facebook page, Ahmad expressed his gratitude to his fans and followers for their prayers and support that played a crucial role in his achievement. “It is the first time in 25 years that this title is going to Pakistan,” he announced, visibly moved by his own accomplishment.
Ahmad also took the opportunity to thank his family, whose relentless support and motivation were vital in his journey to the world stage. Overwhelmed with emotion, he said, “I don’t know how to say thank you for helping me reach this stage.”
Further elevating his career, Ahmad revealed that he is the first Pakistani to receive a Musclemania pro card, emphasizing the significance of his victories, “I won the gold medal and then the world title,” he recounted, underscoring the magnitude of his successes.
In preparation for the competition, Ahmad acknowledged the intensity and level of the challenge this year. “I have done my best, the competition is really big this time,” he reflected before the event, indicating his awareness of the tough contenders he was up against.
Adding to the national pride, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq extended his best wishes to Ahmad before he departed for the competition. Speaker Sadiq highlighted the pride and inspiration Ahmad brings to the nation, especially noting his roots in the NA-122 constituency, “It is a source of pride for us that a youngster from the NA-122 constituency is competing in a weight-lifting and bodybuilding competition.”
Salman Ahmad’s victory not only represents personal achievement but also shines a spotlight on the potential of Pakistani athletes in global sports arenas, especially in disciplines like bodybuilding where the country has seen less representation historically.
