Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain said it was the fundamental right of a person to stage peaceful protest demonstrations on minor or major issues and people should hold their peaceful protests within the limits of law, constitution and moral standards.

In a statement, Altaf Hussain said people should not be allowed to break law under the guise of protests.

MQM chief said it is a debatable issue whether GEO did things intentionally or unintentionally. However, it is wrong to beat journalists belonging to GEO TV, who are mostly from poor and middle class.

He went on saying that it is wrong to snatch and break their cameras and mobile phones, and to attack their vans which they use for reporting.

He appealed to Pakistanis in the name of Pakistan’s security to keep their protest demonstrations peaceful.
