The UN Security Council held an emergency session on Lebanon as diplomats called for a permanent ceasefire amid escalating Israeli operations and Hezbollah attacks.
During the session, UN officials warned that the crisis had deepened across Lebanon. Diplomats also raised concern over large-scale displacement and damage to civilian infrastructure.
The UK representative said about one million Lebanese citizens had been displaced. The representative also warned that homes and infrastructure had suffered severe damage.
Hezbollah said it carried out 41 operations over the past 24 hours. The group said it targeted Israeli military positions and equipment in response to continued attacks.

Meanwhile, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf issued a warning on X to Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.
He said Iran could halt dialogue if Israeli actions in Lebanon continued. A senior Lebanese official separately told Axios that Hezbollah was ready for a full and immediate ceasefire if Israel also stopped attacks.
The comment added to diplomatic efforts to contain the conflict.
UN humanitarian officials have warned that more than 1.1 million people in Lebanon have been displaced during the wider crisis.
