Karachi police detained PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh just outside the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday. Sheikh had approached the court seeking protection from potential arrest. Although the Sindh High Court prohibited his arrest in a land scam case, police took him into custody immediately after he left the court premises.

The specific charges behind his arrest remain uncertain, but Sheikh had previously been named in cases related to riots on May 9. Advocate Wahab Baloch, representing Sheikh, expressed concern over the arrest, stating it seemed to defy court directives and lamented the continued treatment of Sheikh’s party despite changes in governance.
