Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Pervez Khattak has written a letter to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif stating an ’11 demand charter’. He wants complete control of electricity producing units in KP. He also demanded payment of pending dues and distribution of assets to the province of KP.
He has appealed for 2000 MW of electricity for KP instead of the previously offered 1300 MW. He also asked for the payment of dues amounting to one hundred thirty four billion. In the letter, Khattak sought permission for usage of natural gas for production of 500 MW of electricity.
He has requested the payment of net profit 6 billion rupees on generation of electricity. He also claimed the return of Frontier Corps (FCs) appointed in other provinces. KPK province is majorly affected by the terrorist attacks and therefore it should be declared as a disaster-affected area, Pervez Khattak said. More than 10 Lakhs IDPS must also be provided with assistance, he added. Irrigation systems should be built for a growth in agricultural production, said Khattak.
