Jay-Z will headline the 2027 Super Bowl halftime show, the National Football League (NFL), Apple Music and Roc Nation announced on Monday, confirming his first performance at the event.
Super Bowl LXI takes place on February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. ESPN’s Monday Night Football broadcast announced the news.
Apple Music also promoted the booking on social media with the message “GOAT’s out of the bag” and the hashtag #AppleMusicHalftime.
His selection places the Roc Nation founder on a stage his company has helped shape for years. Since partnering with the NFL in 2019, Roc Nation has advised on and helped produce the league’s entertainment presentations, including the halftime show.
Jay-Z now moves from that production role to headlining the performance himself. Reports identifying him as the likely act had circulated the previous week, before the official announcement. The booking follows a year of anniversary concerts celebrating two albums from his catalogue.

His debut, Reasonable Doubt, reached its 30th anniversary in 2026, while The Blueprint marked 25 years. Those milestones were featured in his stadium performances during the year.
Born Shawn Carter, Jay-Z has won 25 Grammy Awards. His music career has also expanded into artist management, sports and other business interests through Roc Nation.
US audiences can watch the Super Bowl on ESPN and ABC or stream it on Disney+. ESPN Deportes will carry a Spanish-language telecast. Roc Nation will executive produce the halftime show, with Hamish Hamilton directing.
