In Nowshera, unknown assailants fatally shot local journalist Malik Hassan Zaib.
The incident unfolded in the Akbarpura area, where assailants on motorcycles targeted Zaib. District Police Officer (DPO) of Nowshera, Athar Khan, reported that Zaib was attacked while travelling in a car with his brother, who narrowly escaped unharmed. Zaib succumbed to the gunfire injuries.
Authorities have transported Zaib’s body to a hospital, and police have registered a case based on his brother’s testimony. Following the incident, the Inspector General (IG) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has called for an immediate report.
The Peshawar Press Club has vehemently condemned the murder. The club’s president, Arshad Aziz Malik, has contacted both the IG and DPO of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, assuring that efforts are underway to capture the culprits swiftly.
