TEHRAN: Iran-US deal talks on a final agreement will not begin if threats against Tehran continue, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tuesday.
“Negotiations on final deal will not commence if threats continue,” he wrote. He also urged the other side to “honour your signature.”
The comments followed US President Donald Trump’s warning that Washington would either reach a deal with Iran or “finish the job.”
Araghchi said millions of Iranians had rallied to honour former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He said neither the Iranian public nor the country’s armed forces were moved by threats.
The interim memorandum signed last month calls on both sides to refrain from the threat or use of force against each other.

The agreement set a 60-day window for negotiations on a permanent arrangement, with major issues still left for later talks.
