Islamabad police detained Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, sisters of PTI founder Imran Khan, at D-Chowk on Friday. They were transferred to the Secretariat police station.
The arrests occurred after PTI announced a protest at D-Chowk, drawing supporters, including Aleema and Uzma, who participated in the demonstration before their detention.
Rawalpindi and Islamabad experienced disruptions earlier that day as authorities blocked the capital’s entry and exit points. Mobile phone services were also suspended in anticipation of the PTI rally. The government ramped up efforts to prevent the protest, while PTI aimed to leverage it politically.

In D-Chowk, as PTI workers assembled, the situation grew tense, leading to the use of tear gas and the arrest of six additional individuals.
