Evidence has been formally deposited against arrested suspect Mohsin Ali Syed and fugitive Kashif Kamran Khan in the Ex MQM leader Imran Farooq murder case. These evidences were made a part of the challan that was also produced in the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) by the FIA.
According to details, initial evidence was deposited with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) by witnesses Muhummad Shoaib and Syed Baqir Mehdi. Eastern Enterprises’ director Muhammad Shoaib was kept at the top on the list of witnesses, who handed over documentary evidence against suspect Mohsin Ali Syed to the FIA.
Geo News has obtained details of the challan which was deposited in court by FIA for the Imran Farooq murder case. Included in the challan were details of suspect Mohsin Ali Syed which include his admission form for a British college, a copy of his passport and his BSC Honors degree from Karachi University. Further details regarding the suspect pertaining to his education in Pakistan have also been included in the challan.
The second witness, Syed Baqir Mehdi, who is affiliated with MPL Travels, produced documents pertaining to suspect Kashif’s departure for England. Among these documents were Kashif’s airline ticket of the PIA flight he had booked for his travel, his passport copy and his bank statement.
Dr Imran Farooq was a senior leader of the MQM who had claimed exile in Britain in 1992 after fleeing from the country when a crackdown against MQM had ensued by law enforcement agencies. On September 16, 2010, while he was on his way home, Imran Farooq was murdered outside his home in Green Lane. A postmortem examination uncovered that he was stabbed multiple times. According to British police, a knife and brick were used to kill Dr Imran Farooq.
Kashif, who is on the run and Mohsin Ali Syed, who is in custody of law enforcement personnel, are considered prime suspects in the Imran Farooq murder case.
