Following the enactment of the new federal budget, there has been an immediate surge in inflation, which has impacted cement prices in Pakistan.
The government has introduced an excise duty of Rs 100 per cement bag, leading to a price increase of Rs 130 to Rs 140 per bag. Consequently, cement prices in Pakistan now range from Rs 1410 to Rs 1420, effective July 1, 2024.

This fiscal year has also seen a notable increase in cement exports, with a 57% rise recorded. According to the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturing Association, cement exports this year have reached 7.15 million tons, a substantial increase from the 4.57 million tons exported during the same period last year.
