Hezbollah announced the death of commander Ibrahim Mohammed Kabisi following an Israeli strike in Beirut’s southern suburbs, which the Lebanese health ministry reported killed six people and injured 15.
The statement from Hezbollah identified the deceased as “commander Ibrahim Mohammed Kabisi” describing him as “martyred on the road to Jerusalem,” a term used for fighters killed by Israeli actions.
On Tuesday, Israel’s army declared that it had “eliminated Ibrahim Mohammed Kabisi, the commander of the missile and rocket network of the Hezbollah terrorist organization.” According to the Israeli military, Kobeissi led several rocket units, including those armed with precision-guided missiles. The strike reportedly targeted him along with other key figures in Hezbollah’s missile command.
Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, an Israeli military spokesman, noted in a media briefing that “at least two” other commanders from Kobeissi’s unit were also “eliminated” in the operations. This operation followed another “targeted strike” by Israel in the same region the previous day.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah confirmed that Ali Karake, a high-ranking official within the organization, was safe following speculations that Monday’s strike had targeted him. These incidents mark a significant escalation in the ongoing hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel, which have intensified dramatically since the outbreak of the Gaza war last October, raising concerns about the potential for a broader conflict.
