KARACHI, Sindh: A child was killed in a Gulshan-e-Iqbal shooting after police said another child handled a firearm kept inside a car, and it discharged while several children were playing nearby.
The incident occurred in Block 16 of Gulshan-e-Iqbal. Police said the firearm had been left inside the vehicle by the father of one of the children.
CCTV footage shows several children repeatedly entering and leaving the car. One child arrived on a bicycle and later entered the vehicle with the others.

Moments later, three children were seen running from the vehicle. Police said the weapon had discharged after one of the children picked it up, with the bullet striking his friend.
According to the footage, the children returned briefly to the vehicle before leaving again. People subsequently gathered around the car after the shooting became apparent.
Police recovered a spent cartridge casing from inside the vehicle. There is no detail available on the deceased child’s name or age, or whether any legal action had been initiated over the storage of the firearm.
