Islamabad: Federal Minister for Finance Muhammad Ishaq Dar has said a process of electoral reforms would be expedited and the government would bring amendment in the constitution if needed.
While talking in a special program, Dar said that the PML-N government would continue to carry on consultation process so that more credible caretaker set up could be placed in the future.
He termed Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif’s address to the nation following the report of General Election Inquiry Commission (GEIC) as ‘visionary.’
The Minister said the commission report was not only a victory of the PML-N but of the entire nation.
Dar urged all political parties to come forward and play their role for the development of the country and resolve the confronted national issues.
The minister said that it was his party’s policy to take along all political parties on every national issue and evolve the consensus in this regard.
Ishaq Dar has said that the verdict of the Judicial Commission was on merit and in best interest of the country.
