An exchange of fire was reported between Indian and Pakistani border forces along the working boundary in Sialkot’s Charwah sector early on Friday.
Sources in the Chenab Rangers said Indian forces resorted to ‘unprovoked’ firing and mortar shelling along Charwah sector.
The sources added that retaliatory firing by Chenab Rangers silenced the guns from the other side. The affected areas include the villages of Charwah, Tulsipur, Bhimala and Dandeala.
Fear and panic gripped the area after the incident. However, no casualties or loss of life was reported.
The incident comes a day after a similar exchange of fire had taken place between Indian Border Security Force (BSF) and Chenab Rangers in the Charwah and Harpal sectors along the working boundary.
