A drone launched from Lebanon targeted the residence of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu in Caesarea, north of Tel Aviv, his spokesperson reported. At the time of the attack, Netanyahu and his family were not present at the location, and there were no casualties.
The Israeli military intercepted two additional drones that had entered Israeli airspace. Local authorities in Caesarea, where Netanyahu owns a holiday home, reported hearing explosions, but no injuries were reported.
This drone strike occurred amidst ongoing hostilities with Hezbollah, although the group has not claimed responsibility for this particular attack.

The incident follows the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in Gaza, confirmed by Hamas on Friday. Sinwar had been involved with Hamas since 1987 and was incarcerated in Israeli prisons for 23 years before his release in 2011 as part of a prisoner exchange. Following the death of former Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in July 2024, Sinwar led the organization, advocating for a unified Palestinian state that includes Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem.
In response to Sinwar’s death, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei expressed that while the loss was significant for the “Axis of Resistance,” the martyrdom of key figures would not impede their progress. Khamenei affirmed, “Hamas is alive and will remain alive,” signalling continued support for the movement.
