Rawalpindi: City Traffic Police (CTP) have set alternate traffic routes for Youm-e-Ali (AS) processions to be taken out on July 8 and 9.
The motorists have been urged to use alternative routes, as several roads in the town cities would be closed for all kind of traffic on 21st of Ramazan.
In order to ensure the security of the mourners and the main procession of Youm-e-Ali, the City Traffic Police have issued a comprehensive traffic plan.
There will be complete ban on parking of any vehicle or handcart on the route the procession and near Imambarghas.
According to Rawalpindi Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Shoaib Khurram Janbaz the traffic will be diverted from the City Saddar Road, Mochi Bazaar, City Police Station, DAV College Chowk, Alam Khan road, Imambargh Chowk and the Committee Chowk to ensure the security of the procession to be taken out from Mohanpura.
Traffic load would be provided alternate routes during the procession and diversion would be available at various points of the
city for the motorists, informed the chief traffic officer.
The CTO said 56 warden officers and nine junior wardens under the supervision of inspectors would perform their duties on the city roads.
Emergency squads will also be appointed to maintain the flow of traffic in the city, he added.
The traffic wardens have been directed to ensure parking at the distance of 200 meters from the route of the procession and imambarghas.
The chief traffic officer directed the wardens to remove all kind of encroachments from the route of the procession besides, keeping a vigil on suspected persons and things.
Main procession of the city will be taken out taken out from the Mohanpura and after passing through Kashmiri Bazar, Fawara Chowk, Iqbal Road, Nia Mohalla and other roads culminate at Col Maqbool Imambargah.
