Peshawar has banned opening CNG stations under Section 144 due to decreased Sui gas pressure. This measure will keep the stations closed until January 19.
The Deputy Commissioner of Peshawar issued a notification stating that domestic consumers are experiencing difficulties because of the reduced gas pressure.
The city has banned CNG stations to secure sufficient gas supply for households.
The prohibition under Section 144 means that opening CNG stations is not allowed, and violations will result in legal consequences.
Following the closure of CNG stations, rickshaw drivers have begun using gas cylinders, which has led to increased fare prices.
Moreover, the presence of CNG-fueled vehicles on the roads has diminished due to these closures.
