Casandra Ventura, popularly known as singer Cassie, has initiated a lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend, Sean “Diddy” Combs. In the suit filed in New York, Cassie accuses Combs of a prolonged period of abuse, violence, and sex trafficking.

The allegations include a 2018 rape and multiple instances of domestic violence. In expressing her resolve to break her silence, Cassie stated, “I am finally ready to tell my story.”

The lawsuit, filed under New York’s Adult Survivors Act, details Cassie’s experiences of being controlled, abused, and manipulated by Combs. It includes claims of physical violence, drug abuse encouraged by Combs, and forced interactions with sex workers. Combs’ lawyer, Ben Brafman, has strongly denied these allegations, dismissing them as “offensive and outrageous” and accusing Cassie of attempted blackmail.

In contrast, Cassie’s lawyer, Douglas Wigdor, commends her courage for refusing a monetary settlement from Combs and speaking out against abuse.

Aubrey O’Day, a pop star and former Danity Kane bandmate, publicly supported Cassie amid the lawsuit. O’Day shared her backing on Instagram, reflecting on her challenging experiences under Combs’ management. She spoke candidly about the difficulties faced during her time with Danity Kane and the implications of working in an environment devoid of the #MeToo movement’s influence. O’Day’s support underscores the complexities and challenges faced by women in the entertainment industry.
