Netflix has unveiled a first look at “Bridgerton” Season 4, which will highlight the romantic escapades of Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and his love interest, Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha).
The upcoming season of Shonda Rhimes’ popular Regency-era drama will adapt “An Offer From a Gentleman,” a novel by Julia Quinn that weaves a Cinderella-esque romance.
Released during Netflix’s “Season of Love” event, the teaser features behind-the-scenes footage and new images. Showrunner Jess Brownell shared that Season 4 aims to be the “most faithful” adaptation of the book series, capturing iconic moments such as the grand masquerade ball, Sophie’s concealed identity, and the eagerly awaited lake scene.
The new season will explore the Regency era’s class dynamics more deeply as Sophie, a former lady’s maid, navigates her feelings for the affluent and adventurous Benedict. Viewers can anticipate a season filled with romance, intrigue, and themes of forbidden love across its eight episodes.
The returning cast includes Jonathan Bailey (Anthony Bridgerton), Nicola Coughlan (Penelope Bridgerton), Simone Ashley (Kate Sharma), and Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte), with executive production led by Rhimes, Brownell, Betsy Beers, Tom Verica, and Chris Van Dusen.
Production of “Bridgerton” Season 4 is currently underway in London, but the official release date has not yet been announced.
