“Big Brother” will return for its final season on Global on July 9, as the network confirms that season 28 will be the reality show’s last run.
The new season will feature a fresh group of houseguests competing for a grand prize of $750,000. The upcoming edition is also expected to include the series’s 1,000th episode, marking a major milestone for the long-running franchise.
Jennifer Abrams, Senior Vice President of Content and Marketing at Corus Entertainment, said Global is proud to have broadcast the show since 2000. She added that the network now plans to refresh its summer programming lineup and explore new content opportunities.
Julie Chen Moonves will return as host. The series follows contestants living together under constant surveillance as they form alliances, navigate secrets, build relationships, and face weekly eliminations.
The season will also see the return of “Big Brother: Unlocked.” The companion series will feature exclusive footage, interviews, surprise guests, and behind‑the‑scenes moments — and, for the first time, will be filmed in front of a live studio audience.
