On the fourth day of the second Test at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Pakistan set a target of 185 runs for Bangladesh.
Pacers Hasan Mahmud and Nahid Rana were instrumental, taking nine wickets as Pakistan was dismissed for 172. Mahmud achieved a five-wicket haul, and Rana secured four wickets, including key dismissals that left the hosts floundering.
At 21, Rana excelled, removing Shan Masood (28), Babar Azam (11), and Saud Shakeel (2) with his fast bowling, setting Bangladesh on course for a possible series victory. He later claimed that Abrar Ahmed (2) would further dent Pakistan’s lineup.
Mahmud took two wickets on the third day and continued his form today by dismissing Mohammad Rizwan (43) and later Abrar and Mir Hamza.
Bangladesh leads the two-match series 1-0 after winning the first test, and also in Rawalpindi.
Rain has affected the series, with the first day’s play cancelled. However, Bangladesh staged a significant comeback on the third day. After being down to 26-6 in response to Pakistan’s 274, Litton Das (138) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (78) partnered for a crucial 165-run seventh-wicket stand, bringing Bangladesh close with a score of 262.
Starting from an overnight score of 9-2, Pakistan reached 47-2 in ten overs on Monday before Bangladesh struck, claiming three wickets for 18 runs.
