CAPE TOWN: The International Cricket Council (ICC) and Cricket South Africa (CSA) will unveil the 2027 Men’s Cricket World Cup schedule on Thursday, October 1, Cricbuzz reported.
Fans can register for a ticket ballot that day. Tickets will not go on sale immediately.
The launch will mark the tournament’s one-year countdown. South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia will co-host the competition.
Pakistan are among eight teams currently positioned to qualify through the one-day international rankings. India, New Zealand, Australia, England, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh occupy the other qualifying positions.
Wednesday’s rankings cut-off will determine direct entry. South Africa and Zimbabwe qualify automatically as hosts, while Namibia must earn their place.
Bangladesh remain in line despite sitting ninth in the rankings. Third-ranked South Africa’s automatic entry leaves a qualifying place open.
Four further teams will advance through the qualifying tournament. Organisers will initially list those sides as Qualifier 1, Qualifier 2, Qualifier 3 and Qualifier 4 in the fixtures.
The expanded competition features 14 teams, up from 10 in the previous edition.
Under the ICC’s revised format, the three lowest-ranked qualified sides first contest a round-robin Super Series. Only its winner advances to join the other teams in the next round.

That stage comprises two groups of six. Each group’s top three teams progress, alongside the next best-placed side across both groups, to the Super Seven.
Teams then play a round-robin stage to decide the semi-finalists. The top four advance, with first facing fourth and second playing third. Both winners progress to the final.
