Two death row prisoners convicted in a murder case were executed in Mirpur center jail in Azad Kashmir early morning today.
The condemned prisoners Muhammad Riaz and Muhammad Fayaz – hanged for a non-terror related charge — were convicted in 2005 murder of former president Supreme Court Bar Fazl Rabbi’s son during robbery.
Azad Kashmir Shariat Court had handed down death penalty to the killers in 2006.
Sources said the jail administration sent the convicts to gallows in early hours of Friday and later handed over their bodies to the heirs.
