Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi of Iran says Tehran’s Hormuz reopening plan remains on the table while officials review US comments on the proposal.
Under the proposed sequence, the strait would reopen on the sixth day if Washington met Iran’s conditions. Negotiations would then begin on the seventh day.
Araghchi described the conditions as reasonable and claimed the United States had previously accepted them. He argued that Washington could fulfil the requirements within a few days if it chose to proceed.
However, he questioned American sincerity and placed responsibility for progress on Washington. The proposed timetable remains conditional on US compliance with Tehran’s demands.

A day earlier, Araghchi told a diplomatic gathering in Baghdad that Iran had conveyed its seven-day proposal through Qatar. He maintained that Tehran was prepared to restore normal maritime passage if the necessary conditions were met.
