AL JUBAYL: United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported two tanker attacks off Saudi Arabia on Saturday. Both incidents occurred on Friday, and crews were reported safe.
An unidentified projectile struck the first tanker 68 nautical miles northeast of the city, according to UKMTO. Its crew evacuated safely, and the agency reported no environmental impact at that stage.
Meanwhile, the master of the second tanker reported an attack 78 nautical miles northeast of Al Jubayl. A small boat fired a rocket-propelled grenade that damaged the vessel’s rear port side, the master’s account said.
UKMTO confirmed that everyone aboard the second vessel was accounted for. However, the agency had no complete assessment of the damage or any environmental impact when it issued its warning.
