Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Spokesperson, Shireen Mazari, today called upon the government to remove Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan from his office following disclosures of death row convict Saulat Mirza.
“After the statement of Saulat Mirza, Ishrat-ul-Ibad should immediately be removed from office that should not be a hindrance in free and fair investigation,” Shireen Mazari said.
In a late night development on Wednesday, President Mamnoon Hussain deferred the execution of Saulat Mirza who made sensational revelations against MQM and PPP leadership through a an audio visual recording from his death cell. The recording was then played by various news channels.
The execution was stayed for 72 before he was to be sent to the gallows in Balochistan’s Mach jail.
“On the behest of party’s London-based leader Altaf Hussain, Senator Babar Ghouri ordered the four of us to gun down Shahid Hamid, the then managing director of the power utility, Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (K-Electric) ,” the ex-MQM worker Mirza alleged.
He also accused the Governor of Sindh, Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad of using his authority to have the criminals find a safe passage. The Governor House, in a late night statement, denied these accusations in the strongest of words.
