A woman, who married to her own will, was brutally killed by her family in Sahiwal.
According to details, Farzana married Shabbir some time back. The family of the girl was against this marriage.
Farzana wanted to live with her husband, however, a Panchayat (tribal council of elders) forced her to get a divorce.
Later, she had moved the court over threats to life. The court had sent the divorcee to Darul Aman.
SHO Muhammad Yousuf said the family of Farzana took her home, butchered her with axe and then shot her dead.
Police have registered the case and conducting raids for the arrest of accused.
