Two blasts have been reported in the federal capital area of Sector G-9 in the city’s biggest commercial hub in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Inspector General of Islamabad Police Aftab Cheema arrived on the scene of the second blast in the Karachi Company area, where the explosion occurred, in a parked car.
This was the second blast which occurred nearly one hour after the first one, at a site nearly eight kilometers from Super Market area of Islamabad, where the first explosion took place.
Police and bomb disposal personnel cordoned off the area and commenced investigations.
Recently the security forces launched an attack on terrorists in the restive FATA area and the militants had warned of retaliation in the cities. As a result LEAs are on high alert in the federal capital.
