According to a report printed in Wall Street Journal ransom cases in Pakistan have increased since TTP has split into different factions.
In the report it is further stated that, TTP has been divided into different groups and the militant organisations depend on kidnapping for ransom for their funding.
It is also claimed that militants fled to other cities after Pakistan Army launched operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan and ransom cases have correspondingly increased in Islamabad after Karachi.
