Police claimed to have shot dead three suspects in an encounter in Ittehad Town area of the city.
The police said that the suspects opened fire on a police mobile and were killed when the law enforcers returned fire while three of their accomplices fled the scene.
According to the police, two motorcycles, two hand grenades and three pistols were recovered from the possession of the suspects.
A senior police official said that the suspects were affiliated with a Lyari gang.
