LEGO has released its largest construction set by piece count, a 12,060-piece model of Barcelona’s Sagrada Família basilica that costs $799.99 in the United States.
The Danish manufacturer opened global sales on November 1 after unveiling the LEGO Architecture model on June 4. Its announced retail prices also include £649.99 in the United Kingdom and €749.99 in euro-denominated markets.
With 365 more pieces than the 11,695-piece World Map, the Sagrada Família model takes the company’s overall piece-count record. Guinness World Records also recognises it as the largest commercially available three-dimensional LEGO set.
Designed for adults aged 18 and over, set 21065 recreates the basilica’s towers, detailed façades and colourful stained-glass effects. Its building sequence follows the structure’s development.
Builders begin with the apse and crypt before assembling the Nativity and Passion façades. They then construct the naves, Western Sacristy and six towers, followed by the Eastern Sacristy and Glory façade.
LEGO Architecture designer Rok Žgalin Kobe described the challenge of balancing scale and precision while respecting Antoni Gaudí’s design.
“We felt an immense responsibility to do justice to the Sagrada Família,” he said.

Once complete, the model stands over 62cm high and measures approximately 47cm wide and 39cm deep. LEGO also provides digital instructions through its Builder app, including three-dimensional views and progress tracking.
The release commemorates the centenary of Gaudí’s death. Construction of the Barcelona basilica began in 1882, and work on some sculptures and decorative elements continues.
