Actor and singer Selena Gomez faces a Wondermind fraud lawsuit alleging misrepresentations tied to nearly $1.2 million in investments. The investors filed the federal complaint in Delaware on August 13, Entertainment Weekly reported.

Wondermind SRS 44 and Bespoke Wondermind SPV named Gomez and co-founder Mandy Teefey as defendants. They also named former business partner Daniella Pierson.

The complaint alleges fraud, breach of contract and related claims involving mental-health startup Wondermind Global.

The plaintiffs said they invested during 2022 after receiving assurances about the company’s infrastructure, leadership and resources. They allege those representations portrayed Wondermind as ready to launch a profitable platform.

The complaint also alleges Gomez promised extensive involvement in marketing and publicity. Investors claim proposed partnerships and revenue projects never materialised.

They also say Wondermind never built the planned app. The investors allege the founders concealed the company’s problems until media reports emerged in 2025.

The plaintiffs further allege Teefey mentioned an investor repayment escrow account in April 2026 that did not exist.

Pierson categorically denied the allegations through a representative. She said she never used investor money personally, invested her own funds and received no company salary.

USA TODAY said representatives for Gomez and Teefey had not responded by the time it published. No court has ruled on the allegations.

The plaintiffs requested a jury trial, repayment of their investments, damages, legal costs and other court-approved relief.

Gomez, Teefey and Pierson launched Wondermind in 2021. Forbes reported in May 2025 that the company missed payments and later cut most of its workforce.
