Security across the country has been tighten for the processions and majalis on chehlum Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS).
According to Inspector General Police (IGP) Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali, police patrolling, snap checking, picketing, intelligence collection and sharing have been strengthened in Karachi.
The shops situated along the route of the procession including MA Jinnah Road, Saddar, Regal Chowk, Jamia Cloth Market and Bolton Market, have been sealed following proper scanning by bomb disposal squad
Karachi has been divided into different sectors, and each sector will be supervised by an officer of SP rank.
IGP briefed that all concerns are directed to ensure clearance, scanning and technical sweeping by bomb disposal squad of the routes of processions.
Pillion riding has been banned in Karachi and in several other cities.
On the other hand, mobile phone service will remain suspended in seven different districts of Balochistan.
