The 18th South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) conference ended on Thursday and all the members strongly condemned all forms of terrorism and agreed to increase mutual cooperation against it.
According to the 36 points declaration, the SAARC members also agreed to establish a cyber crime monitoring desk and the SAARC development fund.
The member countries also agreed to increase regional cooperation and to establish economic union of South Asian countries.
The SAARC leaders agreed to work on emergency basis to make the region clear of poverty, Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) and Tuberculosis (TB) before 2030. They also decided to increase trade amongst member countries through sea and agreed to increase technical and research cooperation in the fields of agriculture and food safety. While discussing the establishment of the SAARC Food Bank, members once again put forward the need of re-establishment of the SAARC Seed Bank.
The leaders of the summit decided to start working on the Agreement of Rapid Response in case of natural disasters. According to the declaration, the next SAARC summit would be held in Pakistan while year 2016 would be celebrated as the SAARC Cultural Year.
