Rights activist Khurram Zaki was shot to death along with his associate in Karachi area of North Karachi late yesterday night.
According to initial information, Khurram was having his dinner at the local cafeteria when he and his friends when unidentified gunmen opened fire at a restaurant located in sector 11-B of North Karachi.
Both Khurram Zaki and Khalid Rao who was also injured in the attack were shifted to Agha Khan Hospital where Khurram was pronounced dead. Later, Zaki’s associate also succumbed to his wounds.
Police cordoned off the affected restaurant and garnered the clues from the cafe.
Zaki’s body moves from hospital to Ancholi Imambargah. Khurram Zaki’s body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where postmortem was conducted. Later on, his body was transported to Ancholi Imambargah.
The sources said his funeral prayers will be offered in front of Chief Minster House this morning.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah took notice of Khurram Zaki’s killing and summoned a report from Inspector General Sindh.
