Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif today paid a morale boosting visit the blood soaked Bacha Khan university in Charsadda town of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK)

According to ISPR sources, the COAS was briefed over military operation that eliminated four attackers before the bloodshed in the university, about 50 kilometres from Peshawar

Police, soldiers and special forces swarmed the university from the ground and the air in a bid to shut down the assault that left at least 22 people dead and over 60 injured.

After nearly five hours, the operation ended and security forces were clearing the area.

Military spokesman Major General Asim Bajwa said on Twitter that four attackers had been killed.

The attack had echoes of a Taliban assault on army-run school in Peshawar in December 2014 that killed more than 150 people, most of them children.
