National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq Thursday said that it is necessary for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members of the assembly to personally appear before him for verification of their resignations.

“It is not D-Chowk that all the PTI representatives be summoned collectively,” Sadiq said while talking to media.

The NA speaker said that if they failed to appear before him, in future any PTI member can claim that he was forced to resign.

He said that as per rules all the PTI members of the National Assembly would have to individually appear before the speaker for the verification of their resignations.

“I have run the assembly sessions impartially and gave opposition members more time to speak,” he said.
