The Lawyers Forum of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) filed a petition in Lahore High Court seeking disqualification of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif from office on Saturday.
In the petition it is stated that the Nawaz Sharif told a lie, in a session of National Assembly, that the government did not request Pakistan Army to play the role of the mediator in the ongoing political crisis whereas Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) has clarified that the government had requested the military to mediate the affairs.
The petitioner pleaded the court to disqualify Nawaz Sharif as he is not “Sadiq and Ameen” as prescribed under the Article 62 and 63 of the constitution.
