After the prolonged span of estrangement, the government led by PML-N and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are set to formally launch negotiations today.
The talks will take place at 4pm this evening at the residence of PTI leader Jehangir Tareen. The government team of negotiators will comprise Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal. The PTI will have Jahangir Tareen, Asad Umar and Shireen Mazari in the team.
It should be mentioned here that the legal advisers will also attend the meeting from the two sides.
According to PTI spokesperson Shireen Mazari, Dar and PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi talked over phone to further the dialogue process.
The sources disclosed that the most pressing issue to be discussed at the talks will be to ascertain the definition of rigging. The formation of a judicial commission will also be brought under contemplation.
