Karachi police chief presented the alleged killer of Dr. Shakeel Auj, the dean of the Islamic Learning department of University of Karachi, before the media earlier today.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi, police AIG Ghulam Qadir Thebo said the arrested suspect, identified as Mansoor, is affiliated with a political party.
“The suspect is also involved in the killing of Professor Sibte Hassan,” he said, adding that Mansoor had been carrying out targeted killings since 1993.
He was working as a ward boy in a government hospital, police official said.
The AIG further disclosed that a five-member group was found involved in several incidents of targeted killings in the metropolitan city.
