A major power breakdown hit several cities of Punjab including Lahore.
According to Ministry of Water and Power, the breakdown occurred due to non-operation of four IPPs of 1230 MW.
People in Lahore and many other cities spent the night without power as the areas plunged into darkness, as officials say the situation will improve in next few days.
Reports said the power supply has been restored partially in Lahore; however, a complete restoration with take few more days.
Spokesman of the Ministry said increased power loadshedding may continue for the next few days due to hot weather conditions and increased demand. He also urged consumers to restrict their consumption to avoid the loadshedding
