Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) chief, Mehmood Khan Achakzai, said today that parliament, judiciary and all political forces “are on the same page” to protect democracy in Pakistan.
Addressing joint session of the Parliament, he said “civil society, judiciary and media are with us and now we request Pak Army to be with us as well”.
“Best gift of independence is that the entire Parliament and political parties are on same page today,” Achakzai further said.
“We need to defend Pakistan’s constitution and democracy”, he said, criticizing PTI and PAT chiefs for indulging in politics that are damaging democracy.
Achakzai questioned how workers of protesting parties entered heavily guarded Red Zone despite imposition of Article 245.
Dubbing protesters as ‘gypsies’, he urged them to leave the Parliament House premises, and called upon the PM to order crackdown against them.
“This is not a protest but revolt and terrorism… Attacking police is a criminal act”, Achakzai thundered.
